CuraStage
We do our best to find the perfect job for you as quickly as possible. We have many contacts with companies on the island so we can switch quickly. After we have found a nice and suitable vacancy, we will inform you of course!
Fortunately, you don't have to pay us right away! You first register for free & without obligation, after which you can immediately schedule an introductory meeting.
If, after the Teams interview, you want us to start looking for a nice vacancy for you, you will receive a down payment invoice from us in the amount of ? 55,- with an internship package. With work and volunteer packer, the down payment is 50% of the chosen package. After receiving the deposit, we will draw up your profile and look for a suitable vacancy for you.
As soon as we have found this vacancy and you are happy with it, you will receive the remaining invoice from us. During the registration process you already indicate which services you want to use. You will also find these services on the invoice. Curious about our packages? Take a quick look at our packages and then register!
You will receive the invoice from us by email and it contains all bank details to which you can transfer. In the email you will also find a payment link for i-Deal, PayPal, Bancontact and KBC.
The payment term we use is 7 days, so you have a week to pay the invoice.
Although we are located in Curaçao, we use a Dutch bank account. This makes paying easier and you do not have to incur unnecessary bank costs.
Our work for you starts when we have received your registration form, so this is crucial.
We have various registration forms, namely for interns, employees and volunteers. You can fill in the correct registration form via these links.
At the top of our website is the "Register" button. If you click on this you will get the three different options. Click on the one that applies to you and choose the package that you would like to purchase. You will then be taken directly to the free registration form!
With us you can choose that we pick you up from Hato airport and bring you to your accommodation. As easy as you have just landed! The transfer means that we will come to pick you up and we will personally bring you to your accommodation.
You can also book this service in advance to Hato when you go home!
The pick-up service is standard in our All-in-1 package and you can opt for it in the Customized package.
Using your own SIM card on the island is expensive. So if you stay on Curaçao for a longer period of time (more than a month), we always advise you to use a local SIM card!
Keep in mind that you cannot buy a SIM card anywhere at the supermarket like in Europe, here you have to go to a special store and draw a number and wait until it is your turn. We also have this as an extra service with our packages so that you can immediately use a local SIM card, which is very handy.
We work with two types of packages, namely the All in 1 package and the Customized package. That way we can provide everyone with appropriate service.

Experience shows that 99% of the cases we have been able to find a suitable vacancy and can therefore match. You can therefore assume that we will also find something suitable and fun for you!
Because we can never guarantee this, we work with a down payment. With the down payment we will immediately start working for you and this way we can also make optimal efforts to arrange that nice vacancy for you. You only pay the remainder of the package when we have found a suitable place for you.
When you have completed the registration form, we will contact you for an intake interview via Teams. This allows us to properly map out what you expect and exactly what you are looking for. Based on this information, we will search for you and approach companies.
When we have found a suitable place for you, we will make this known to you and we will arrange matters such as Housing and Transportation.
We have a very handy and clear overview procedure made for you, so that you know exactly where you are in the process and what is to come.
Housing
We select the accommodation on an accurate basis. We know who the managers are and what the houses look like on the inside. Of course one house has more facilities than the other. So it is just what you are looking for in terms of stay!

The moment you have indicated a preference in which house you would like to stay, we will contact the landlord. If a room is available, we will put you in contact with the landlord and you will conclude a contract with them and therefore also pay the rent and deposit.
We as CuraStage are outside of this agreement. We only mediate in choosing a suitable accommodation.
Yes, of course, we have various accommodations on the website that you can choose from! Every house has its own characteristics and there is always a house that suits you.
For example, one likes a smaller house more and the other likes a house with several roommates so that people are always present. You can view on our housing page the options!
Transportation
Super annoying if you drive damage or have an accident with the car, but this can happen of course.
The most important thing is that you call ForenSys on 119. Meanwhile, leave the car as it is, even if you block the entire road. They then come with a van to take photos and draw up a damage report for the insurance. You will then receive a receipt that you can hand over to your car rental company. He or she will submit this to his insurance policy.
If you are insured for liability with your car, it may be that your deposit is withheld. This also applies to your deductible with an All Risk insurance.
Also always contact your car rental company if you have been damaged or have had an accident because they must inform the insurance company!
In general, the rules are the same as in the Netherlands, but the driving style here is just different. It is a matter of awarding. You let people in front and people let you in front. The rule on the right applies, but is not observed here. So always be careful when you are at an intersection. It is better to wait too long than just take priority.
Important: when it rains on Curaçao, the roads can get very slippery because there is a lot of oil on the road surface. So adjust your speed in the turns and allow for a longer braking distance.

Aich and flat tire! Unfortunately, that often does not happen here. If you have a flat tire you can see if you have a spare tire in the car and change the tire.
If you don't have a spare tire or don't know how to change tires, you can always call your car rental company. He can help you out of the fire and otherwise you can call 9247, this is the Curaçao Roadside Assistance service.
Well this is not the nicest job but it is still necessary to be able to drive your car again.

This answer is not obvious because yes there is cycling on the island! But it is not recommended because there are no bicycle paths on Curaçao. So you cannot go everywhere and you have to wonder whether it is safe to go cycling on Curaçao.
It is not for nothing that there are only 1 or 2 companies that rent mountain bikes and no 'normal' bicycles. Do you really want to go cycling? Then take out a gym subscription and go cycling there!
Well it is not a superfluous luxury. The temperatures are around 30 degrees every day with a good burning sun, so it can get hot in the car.
We always recommend renting a car with air conditioning, especially if you want your hair to look perfect after your car ride. With the windows open can be fun, but after that time your hairstyle is no longer in shape.
Tickets
It is intended that you book a ticket yourself. That way you have the freedom to choose which airline you fly to and you can select everything yourself.
You have two companies that fly directly from the Netherlands to Curaçao, namely TUI and KLM.
Both companies do not do Last Minute deals. Experience shows that booking as early as possible is the cheapest. In addition, you always have the KLM World Deal weeks where there is always a discount on a ticket to Curaçao.
There are also always young people looking for cheap tickets with stopovers via Miami or Paramaribo. Perhaps you can also look at this.
As long as you have not yet received your Declaration of Law, you must book a return ticket. Curaçao wants to be sure that you intend to return to your own country.
Do you do an internship? Then you will have to book a return ticket because this is a condition.
People often book a ticket with KLM so that they can possibly postpone the end date if they want to stay longer on the island.
If you are under the age of 18, you are unfortunately not allowed to fly unaccompanied yet. You should take this into account in advance as they are strict about this at Hato (Curaçao airport). Fortunately, you can fly alone with an authorization from your parents/guardian.

If you are flying with KLM, it is useful to have a letter drawn up by one of your parents / guardians with the text that you are authorized to fly alone and add the passport of the person who authorizes you.
Yes, to enter Curaçao you need a valid passport that is valid for at least six months. You cannot enter the country on your driver's license or ID card.
No, you can come here based on a return ticket and your passport. When you purchase a service from us it means that you are going to do an internship or work and then you need a Verklaring van Rechtswege. This means that any other obligation to have a visa expires.
This only applies to Dutch people! If you are not Dutch, please contact us so we can find out which documents you need.
Permit
In principle, a Dutch citizen may stay in Curaçao six months per twelve months as a tourist. However, when you start working, doing an internship or even doing volunteer work you need a Verklaring van Rechtswege Don't you have this? Then you are in the workplace illegally.
Before coming to Curaçao, it is therefore mandatory to apply for this Declaration of Law. Don't panic, we can do this for you. This is standard in our All in 1 package and you can take it as an option with the Compilation package.
This depends on the purpose of your stay on Curaçao.
If you are going to do an internship, you will receive a Verklaring van Rechtswege based on the duration of your internship agreement.
If you are going to work or do voluntary work, you will receive a work permit for an indefinite period of time and you can therefore stay longer on Curaçao.
No, but you must fill in an ED Card.
Before departure your arrange your Legal Statement and then fill in the online ED Card just before you leave. On this form you enter where you are staying and what your purpose of the stay is. Customs may ask questions about this, but you do not have to worry if you have arranged your papers properly.
You can fill in the ED Card online and print it to take with you in your hand luggage.
In principle you do not have to deregister and when you do an internship this is certainly not handy! Whether you have to unsubscribe depends on various factors:
- Are you going to do an internship, work or volunteer for less than 8 months? Then you don't have to unsubscribe.
- Are you staying longer than 8 months? Then you will have to deregister from the Netherlands. After 8 months, the Netherlands also does this automatically, so you are no longer insured for your health insurance.
So it is always handy to find out which situation applies to you.
Insurance
If you stay on Curaçao you need a valid and good health and travel insurance. Make sure you indicate with your travel insurance that you do need worldwide coverage because Curaçao does not fall under the Netherlands or Europe.
It can also be useful to take out liability insurance. Also view the coverage here and to what extent this covers accidents abroad.
If you have to deregister from the Netherlands, you will have to take out private insurance policies and therefore also a new health insurance policy. In that case we recommend Insure to Study. If you remain insured with your health insurance, we recommend JoHo Special Isis.
Hell yes! You never know what to use, what you can ultimately request from your insurance.
You can of course just go to the doctor but you will first have to pay the costs yourself. It can then be useful if you can reclaim these costs from your insurance policy.
Make sure you have insurance with coverage on Curaçao.
No this is not necessary. If you are staying in Curaçao for less than eight months, it is not necessary to deregister and you are therefore compulsorily insured in the Netherlands for your medical expenses.
Do you stay longer than eight months? Then you will have to deregister from the Netherlands and your health insurance will automatically stop. Then take out a private health insurance policy so that you are always covered!
Curacao
The native language of the Curaçaoans is Papiamento: a Creole mixture of Afrikaans, Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch, French, English and the native language of the Arawaks. The official languages on Curaçao are Dutch, Papiamentu and English.
In local TV programs, in the States (parliament) and on the street, however, mainly Papiamentu is spoken.

Yes, life on Curaçao is a lot more expensive than in Europe. This has to do with the fact that all goods arrive on the island by plane or ship. Import duties have to be paid on these goods, which already increases the price.
Not only the prices are higher but the biggest problem is that the wages are lower so that people have less to spend.
Gasoline, on the other hand, is a lot cheaper!
Did you know that water and electricity is about 10 times as expensive in the Netherlands? So be extra careful with water and electricity
Yes, almost all products that you have in Europe are also here. Very nice if you are attached to cheese, chocolate sprinkles, peanut butter and Thuisbezorgd.nl.
Online shopping on an island with a longest road of 66 KM is not really present. You can simply easily go anywhere.
You do have a number of wholesalers who do online shopping. In addition, it is popular to buy things from America and have them delivered to the island. Only this takes a very long time and you pay import duties.
There is a time difference between Curaçao and the Netherlands. And the number of hours depends of course on the winter time and summer time in the Netherlands. On Curaçao the time is never changed so you don't have to take this into account.
During the winter time it differs 5 hours, in the Netherlands it is 5 hours later than on Curacao.
In summer time it differs 6 hours, in the Netherlands it is 6 hours later than on Curacao.
First of all, it is important to bear in mind that wages are about half lower in Europe. For example, where in the Netherlands? 2000.- per month, you earn 2000 ANG on Curaçao, so? 1000,-.
So when you start an Internship or you are working on the island, you can take this into account. Do not feel that you are under paid, because everyone here on the island earns less than they would in the Netherlands.
No, on Curaçao you have the Antillean Guilders (ANG) and you can also pay with American Dollars. The Euro won't get you very far here, so you don't need to bring cash in Euros to Curaçao.
No, this is only possible at 1 or 2 stores on the island. You can go here with Antillean Guilders (ANG) or American Dollars. You can get this in advance in the Netherlands at a currency exchange office or you can simply pin here.
Please note that you put your bank card on World coverage so that you can simply withdraw money here on Curaçao!
This is of course one of the reasons why many Europeans emigrate to Curaçao, the beautiful weather! And yes it is so warm every day, 25 – 30 degrees, so you can always wear shorts or a dress.
Keep in mind that your employer or internship company can set requirements for clothing wear.
From October to January you have the so-called rainy season in which there can be occasional showers. Usually this is blown away within 15 minutes, but occasionally it is cloudy all day. But don't worry, the temperature always stays nice and warm.
In principle, Curaçao has 110 volts instead of the well-known 220 volts, which means that the plugs look different. Incidentally, Curaçao has responded to European appliances and you will find the 'normal' sockets almost everywhere.

Internet and calling on the island is very expensive with a foreign SIM card. You literally run empty on these costs.
You can at all packages add the extra service 'local SIM card' and we will arrange this for you. It is not as easy as in Europe that you can buy a SIM card at almost every supermarket or telephone shop. Here you only have a few points where this is possible and then you can join the back of the queue.
You often hear stories that Curaçao is not safe and that there is a lot of crime. Curaçao is comparable to a large city in the Netherlands and therefore also the safety. The most important thing we want to give you: don't go out alone at night.
