What do you take with you in your hand luggage when traveling to Curaçao?
Passport
Yes, you guessed it but your passport is crucial. You cannot enter Curaçao without a valid passport and you can take the next flight back to NL. It's a shame, you also need your passport to apply for your Internship Permit.
ED card
This is an online immigration card that you already fill in in NL. Here you fill in what your purpose of stay is and how long you plan to stay. When you have to go through customs at the airport on Curaçao, you can have your passport scanned electronically and they will immediately see your ED card appear. Internship contract or employment contract
If it happens that customs still have some questions about your stay, it is useful to show the internship contract immediately. This way there can be no doubt about your reason for staying on Curaçao.
Declaration by operation of law or proof of application
In order to legally do an internship or work in Curaçao, you need a so-called Declaration of Law. We can easily request this for you and it is standard in it All-in-1 package but you can also choose optionally with the Customized package. The advantage for Dutch people is that when you apply for this Declaration you can immediately come to do an internship or work. So you don't have to wait for the decision. Wallet incl. Important cards
It sounds of course it makes sense but to take your wallet with you is very important. It is handy to be able to spend money here. Make sure you have your bank card put on global coverage because Curaçao does not belong to Europe or the Netherlands the banks. Tip: do you have Rabobank? Then you can choose continents and then fill all continents because there is an error in their system that makes South America wrong. A case of: Been there, done that and then you will be disappointed if you want to pay.
Insurance papers
You will not need it upon entering Curaçao, but it is very handy to have your insurance papers at hand. Just think of the possibility that your suitcase did not come with you and you want to make a claim with your travel insurance.
Laptop, telephone and chargers
In the plane may not have much to your chargers but it is nice as you come somewhere and your battery is empty, that you can charge it immediately. Saves another search between all your clothes in your large suitcase.
Survival package

This speaks for itself. You can also arrange it via your phone because most airlines do have an online app where you can put your airline ticket. But you never know.
What do you take with you on a trip to Curaçao?
After you have packed your hand luggage, the big work begins. Namely packing the hold luggage! If you are going to do an internship on Curaçao or work on Curaçao, you will stay on the island for a longer period of time. That is why it is a good thing to take a critical look at what to pack.
Clothes, clothes and more clothes
Well it's obvious but clothes are important to take with you. The advantage is that you only have to take summer clothes with you and they take up less space and are also less heavy than winter clothes. Keep in mind that you also have to do an internship or work in Curaçao. Ask the company if you get company clothing or if there are certain regulations so that you can immediately take it with you in your suitcase.
Care items and toiletries
Think of shampoo, etc. You can also take small bottles with you so that you have extra kilos left for clothing. Here on Curaçao you can just buy everything so you don't have to worry about that.
Towels and beach towel

Bed linen and pillow
